Volunteer to help out at concerts or with other important tasks.
The Sherman Chamber Ensemble is seeking volunteers of all ages to assist
at concerts. Young people and
others with an interest in classical music will have the opportunity to
get a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of a professional musical
organization and take part in the exciting activities of the Ensemble.
The repertoire for the summer includes works by Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart,
Brahms, Tchaikovsy and others. This season's performers will demonstrate
their talents on a diversity of instruments, including flute, harpsichord,
piano, voice and strings. Performances take place in both Kent and Sherman
during three weekends in July and August. Additional activities include children's concerts
and bluegrass performances at various times during the season.
Volunteers will help out with set-up and technical production, serve as ushers, and perform various other tasks necessary to the successful presentation of the Ensemble's concerts. Single individuals or groups of two or three friends or family members volunteering together may be accommodated. Volunteer scheduling is flexible – sign up for as many concerts as you wish, from just one to all six. Or volunteer to help out with publicity (distributing posters, preparing mailings, etc.) and make your own schedule. Community service credit for school or other organizations may also be arranged.
