Volunteer
The Sherman Chamber Ensemble is seeking volunteers of all ages to assist at concerts and with other important tasks. Young people and others with an interest in classical music will have the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of a professional musical organization and take part in the exciting activities of the Ensemble. Performances take place in both Kent and Sherman during three weekends in July and August. Additional activities include children's concerts and bluegrass performances at various times during the season.

Volunteers will help out with set-up and technical production, serve as ushers, and perform various other tasks necessary to the successful presentation of the Ensemble's concerts. Single individuals or groups of two or three friends or family members volunteering together may be accommodated. Volunteer scheduling is flexible - sign up for as many concerts as you wish, from just one to all six. Or volunteer to help out with publicity (distributing posters, preparing mailings, etc.) and make your own schedule. Community service credit for school or other organizations may also be arranged.

Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of this special group that has been praised by The New York Times as "about as close as it gets to the Platonic ideal of a chamber music concert." For more information, contact Executive Director Mary Rindfleisch at 860-355-5930 or email us.

Donate
Ticket sales only begin to cover the costs of bringing SCE's fine concerts and educational activities to the community. We rely on the support of individuals, families, businesses, foundations, community organizations and government agencies to make "world class music, close to home" possible in Western Connecticut and New York State. There are several ways you can play a role.

Fundraising Events
Several times a year the Sherman Chamber Ensemble presents special house concert fundraisers in New York City and in the Sherman vicinity. These exclusive events are hosted by generous supporters in their homes or other unique venues and provide an opportunity to experience chamber music in the truly intimate environment for which most of it was written. They are also a great opportunity to enjoy delicious food and drink, chat with old acquaintances and meet new friends of the Sherman Chamber Ensemble. Details of upcoming events will be posted as they are finalized.
